Engaging in sports regularly is of great importance to all individuals in staying healthy. While some people argue that children are prepared by team-based sports for professional career, other suggested that sole sports are better. In this essay, I will discuss opinion of both sides and finally provide my own view.
On the one hand, individual-based sports are likely to have some benefits for children. To begin with, lone sports may foster children’s independence and self-confidence. This is mainly because to gain any achievements in single-player sports, they have to rely entirely on themselves. As a result, individual-based sports can play a crucial role in becoming mature person. Moreover, not only can such sports increase self-confidence, but they also could be more risky. The reason behind this is that the frequency of getting injuries is lower in sports such as tennis and swimming. Therefore, solo workouts might be more suitable for children.
Conversely, despite all these benefits of individual sports, it would be a mistake to underestimate the possible advantages of team sports. Firstly, group sports can enhance social cohesion among the children. The reason for this is that children who take part constantly in team games can interact each other frequently. Thus, some parents prefer to sent their children to group sports such as football, basketball and volleyball. Secondly, team games can help children to foster their soft skills including communication and teamwork. This occurs because it is crucial to understand your teammates to achieve success in such sports. Consequently, these sports can facilitate to access their future professions.
In conclusion, there might be some reasons to think that individual-based sports are better. However I firmly believe that the possible benefits of team sports are more important here, as participating regularly group games boosts communal cohesion and foster soft skills.
