The issue of looking after elderly became a great importance for many individuals nowadays. While there are good arguments in favor of sending elderly to nursing home are more likely to be best, l strongly subscribe to the belief that taking care of them at home can be better. Both views will analyzed in this essay.
There are various reasons why some people firmly assert that leaving old people at nursing home appears to have been beneficial for them. Firstly nursing home provides immense convenience as old people do not have to make their own meal. Secondly, government supplies a great number of facilities for elderly, such as nursing care, 24-hour supervision, three meals a day etc. Besides, they do not need to pay money for accommodations as well as other activities. For instance, in some countries, such as Holland and Norway, where nursing homes developed, 81% of the old people who are living in nursing home are satisfied with this system.
On the other hand, l am more inclined to have strong belief that looking after them at home is more probable to be comfortable. That is to say that old people may feel safe as well as free at their own home as they do not need to get permission even for minor issues. In other words, they have a chance to spend quality time with their family, namely their grandchildren. In recent survey conducted that, 68% of the elderly feel much more comfortable at their own home.
From what has been discussed above, once can reach a conclusion that although living in nursing home can be comfortable, home is more likely to be safe.
