In recent years, traffic congestions and pollution have increased across the world. Some people believe that increasing public transport facilities is the way to avoid traffic, while others argue that enhancing the roads is the proper remedy to avoid traffic and pollution. However, I partially agree with this statement and will discuss both perspectives.
To begin with, investing in public transportation is not the proper way to diminish traffic and pollution. However, some individuals prefer to travel in their own vehicles, such as cars and motorbikes. Subsequently, enhancing public transportation facilities may lead to massive congestion, and the cost of developing public transportation is massive, and the quality is very low when compared to private vehicles. Therefore, developing public transportation is not an appropriate way to diminish congestion and pollution.
On the other hand, enhancing road facilities will help to decline traffic and pollution. For example, extending single-way routes into double-way routes allows vehicles to move freely. Furthermore, accidents are mostly avoided in this method because vehicles are moving on separate lanes. Additionally, quick transportation occurs in expanded ways. For example, goods and services are imminently transported from one place to another.
In conclusion, enhancing the roads is the best way to reduce traffic congestion and pollution rather than spending on government transportation facilities like buses. However, it might be a better idea, but citizens are willing to travel in their own vehicles.
