It is often argued, if the internet is an access to a large base of information, or rather a distraction to learning. In my opinion, internet can do both of these and it depends mostly on the user himself.
It is true that internet provides access to vast resources. It includes: books, articles, researches, lessons and other materials on different aspects. All this can be read and watched in the internet. In this case, internet is providing a huge amount of information, which can be useful for education. Another positive impact of internet on education is fast and easy-to-use communication. For instance, students had online meetings on internet, during recent coronavirus pandemics. With such technologies students can meet virtually without a need to meet face to face. This proves that internet is being used benefecialy in education and can be an innovative development in future.
Although having a positive impact on education, internet may disrupt people from studying effectively. There are many types of entertainment in a virtual net, as well as studies and books. Some of these entertainments can be quite addictive and on easy access, thus distracting students from learning. Social media, for example, had a significant rise during coronavirus outbreak which can be a proof of negative affects on education.
To conclude, whether internet has good or bad impact on learning often depends on individuals using it. It may offer a wide range of useful information and excellent communication tools, but also act detrimental on studying if used incorrectly.
