It is often said that nature has the role of providing people with all necessities and resources for economic development. Due to the opponents of this view, it is hugely unfair to use this natural reserves for the selfish purposes of humans and we should protect extinct species and ecosystems. I strongly align with the second claim, as thoughtless usage of natural resources is unfair and tend to have irreversible consequences in the foreseeable future.
Undoubtedly, during the whole history of mankind, we relied heavily on minerals, animals and plants to satisfy our needs and encourage economic growth. It is common knowledge that it is quite easy to exploit nature and take the advantage of animals meet, trees, and minerals for the future utilization and consumption. For example, mining coal or oil benefits companies more because it is more easier way to get fuel needed for factories and there’s is no need to implement eco-friendly initiatives, fund the construction of renewable power stations and promote new products.
On the other hand, the over reliance on natural reserves tends to lead to the full deterioration of ecosystems. That is said that, humans will no longer be able to utilize this resources and they will be forced to come up with new sources needed for the production. Furthermore, I believe that, people had long ago crossed the line by exploiting nature in such a harsh manner and the effects of this can be seen already. I stick to the point that we should prevent further damage caused by human activity and find viable solutions that would be beneficial for us and won’t be harmful to the environment. Moreover, I argue that it’s our responsibility to support our environment with different social initiatives, but the priority is to understand the scale of this problem. As a result, I suggest implementing environmental policies and campaigns to raise public awareness of this issue.
Although, people find using natural resources as profitable and effective we shouldn’t take for granted all the beings which co-exist with us, as our primary responsibility as humans is to protect the space where we live and create a harmonious relationship between humans and nature.
