There is no doubt that we have to have a healthy way of living. While some people believe that maintaining healthy living habits only depends on each individual, I would argue that governments and communities should also contribute to creating a better environment to promote a healthier lifestyle.
Everyone knows their condition better than anyone else thus they should take care of their physical and mental health by themself. Aspects such as exercise, diet, and sleep can only be done independently, for instance, if a person wants to be healthier, they should try to maintain a balanced diet, get enough sleep and exercise daily. Hence, the human body must be managed independently since you can not rely on others to maintain your health.
However, authorities and communities can be involved in creating healthier environments. Governments can enhance the economics, facilities, regulations, and environments to improve the overall well-being of their people. Additionally, campaigns can also be done by other parties to further encourage the citizens to be aware of their health. For example, governments create rules to fine individuals who litter. Furthermore, it has been proven that developed countries tend to have a high life quality index, which means that the role of governments such as improving their economics and developments has an indirect impact on their people to maintain their health.
Ultimately, while it is true that regulating health is the responsibility of each individual, I believe that authorities and communities can help directly and indirectly to promote and enhance the overall well being of their people.
