In recent years, many people debate about the use of drones for surveillance and delivery services as positive and some think it as a negative aspect to the society. This view is primarily driven by privacy and safety concerns. Although these worries are valid to some extent, I partially disagree that this poses serious threat.
On one hand, security monitoring using this technology is very beneficial for todays’ world. For twenty-four hour tracking, these decives have the capability to detect foreign objects and any unhuman activities, which can be used by the local police instead of an officer on the streets. Moreover, if something happen, it sends signal to nearby authority so that immediate action could be taken. Despite going outside, one can receive their parcels sitting at home through this unmanned aircraft, which is definitely a plus point for its inreasing use in many countries.
On the other hand, it could be a serious threat if it is used without any precautions. A great technology in the hands of a criminal mind obviously becomes a warning sign for others. Human life, full of privacy, can be intervene through and criminal can follow their target using these unmanned devices. This will also threaten the life safety of that individual. For example, in the US, some hackers followed a rich man to know his daily activities so as to kidnap him on a right time.
In conclusion, there are some difficulties promoting these devices; nevertheless, it is a great investment if used correctly.
