In today’s world, many urban areas are developing rapidly at an unprecedented rate. While some argued that this is primarily contributed by efficient public service for transportation, others claim. This essay will explore both sides and my support for the latter statement.
The factor of public transports in the growth of a city can be crucial by many elements. One major reason is its effectiveness in mitigating many concerning problems of today’s world. By upgrading the transportation system, the public may increasingly prefer public vehicles, which in turn, provides opportunities for a reduction in gas emission and growth in productivity. For instance, Japan is well-known for its excellent service of public transports. The utility of electromagnetism for high velocity, which also hardly produces carbon dioxide, has allowed people to travel between places punctually and increases employments to becoming drivers of public vehicles.
Nevertheless, it is my belief that other sectors should be priortized over public vehicles. Notably, these services make greater contribution in different aspects of our society. To clarify, while the main purpose of public transportation is to provide individuals greater convenience in commuting, other services, such as education and healthcare, are of higher demand, as they drastically improve the life quality of the public. In Vietnam, one of the biggest national problems is traffic jams due to the number of private vehicles being considerable. However, the country has one of the highest GDP rates among countries of the Southeast, which indicates the greater importance of other services.
Conclusively, I support the latter opinion, as these sectors play greater roles in improving our daily life, compared to public transportation. Thus, governments should focus on improving other services to further develop urban areas in our contemporary society.
