Art is the expression of human creativity and imagination. It comes in many forms such as drawing, painting, music, and dance. Art reflects the deep emotions and thoughts of the artist. It has the power to connect people across the world through shared feelings and experiences, regardless of language or culture. An artist’s imagination brings their inner world to life through their work.
Many people believe that art gives life meaning and purpose—and I am certainly one of them. Art can reveal a person’s true self. It brings calmness and maturity to those who create it. As someone who enjoys drawing, I find peace and relaxation while sketching. Every time I draw, I reflect on my life, which helps me grow as a person. True artists understand the depth and value that art carries.
However, not everyone sees art the same way. Some people view it as a distraction from real life. During my college days, many praised my drawings but also said, “Even though your art is good, it won’t help you pay your bills.” They believed I should spend that time studying instead. To them, art was a hobby—not something meaningful or valuable.
In my view, art is much more than a hobby. It provides peace of mind during difficult times. It helps us forget our worries and brings instant joy. Most importantly, it awakens the playful, creative spirit that often hides beneath daily stress. Art is not a waste of time—it’s a powerful, healing force that gives life color and meaning
