Nowadays, historic landmarks reflect a country’s rich culture. Some are of the opinion that historical sites should be protected by the government even if it is costly. I completely agree with this statement and think that old buildings should be preserved for future generations. My reasons will be explained further.
The foremost argument to explain my inclination is boosting tourist attraction and the country’s economy. This means that people from all over the world travel to historical places and learn more about our cultural heritage. Apart from that, tourists visit our nation’s historic places and generate income and create jobs for poor people. Moreover, it represents our cultural heritage protection. They help our future generations to understand the past and know more about their culture, morality, values, and past habits. For instance, in India, kings built the Taj Mahal in memory of their queen. It is famous for tourist attractions. Also, it increases the economic condition and helps the country’s development.
Furthermore, individuals learn more about educational value. Students and researchers learn history practically rather than just reading books. If the government protects places, people can see their structure and understand how monuments were built and learn more about their stories. Their design attracts tourists and locals and is quite rare in modern structures. These structures also give us an opportunity to learn about the glorious past. For example, Roman structures demonstrate how preserved historical buildings exist with modern development while attracting millions of visitors each year.
To sum up, it can be stated that it is important to preserve historical monuments even if it is expensive. I strongly believe that the government should take action and maintain our cultural places because people learn more about their culture and it also boosts the nation’s economy.
