Some believe that children receive a better education at boarding schools, while others argue that staying with their families and attend day school is more better. Both perspectives have the different inside in looking for an education, depending on the child’s needs and family situation.
Boarding school provide a structure environment and a high level of dicipline. With high quality of facilities, structured schedule, smaller class sizes, and a bunch of school extracurricular in academic and socially. Being away from home teaches dicipline and independence preparing for their adult life. However, being away from family can lead to homesickness and emotional stress especially for the younger child or child that needs more attention.
Conversely, living at home while attend a day school makes children emotional support and stability. Parents as well plays a role in shaping child’s emotional and teach them important life values. Day school also maintain child’s close bond with their families while also participating a school comunity activities. Moreover, going to the day school is more affordable than the boarding school, which not all parents is good with their economy.
In my opinion, both opinions have their points, but the choice of going to the boarding school or living at home while attending a day school is depends on the child’s needs and family situation. Boarding school can offer a structured schedule and bunch of rules, which it is not every student capable doing all of it. However, for those who needs family support, staying at home while attending day school might be a better choice.
