Band 7+: Some people believe that children should be disciplined by making them obey rules and do what their parents and teachers want them to do. Others, however, believe that those children who are controlled are not well-prepared to tackle the challenges life brings to them. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Many people believe that youngsters who are controlled by their parents or teachers are not prepared to face the challenges that life brings with time, while another group of individuals suggest that these young minds should be properly disciplined for following rules to do things according to the directions given by parents and teachers. In my opinion, although discipline is necessary to be taught by a guardian or a tutor, it is important for the child to have freedom for learning significant life lessons.

There are several factors which inclines one to think that nowadays, the children require discipline and guidance from any of their parents or educators. With changing times, children have got addicted to screens like mobile phones and television, which at times teaches them unnecessary things. However, if they are guided on time, proper learning can be ensured. Furthermore, when a child starts to follow some rules from childhood, it is easy to adapt a routine after growing up. Therefore, it is of the essence that the younger generation is trained and disciplined for them to learn things in the right manner.

On the contrary, if someone controls the other person, irrespective of whether the other person is their own child, it may lead to a certain degree of obsession. For children, on the other hand, it would then be difficult to live their lives independently. Nonetheless, if there is no guidance or discipline from a guardian or a teacher, sometimes, the child may get wayward under other bad influences. Therefore, it becomes important that the parent or the educator provide guidance to the younger ones along with letting them have their own freedom to make mistakes and learn new life lessons.

In conclusion, while it is essential for young kids to be disciplined, it should be up to a certain extent with freedom to do new things. In my opinion, it is not only necessary for the child to have freedom for learning significant life lessons, but also critical for children to have parental guidance while learning discipline from teachers.
