Some individuals believe that home tasks should not be given to students every single day. I strongly agree with this view because excessive intellectual strain would reduce their motivation to learn, and they have to socialize with their family or friends to build confidence and self-esteem.
Excessive daily homework puts unnecessary mental pressure on students, which can lead to stress and a decline in their motivation to study. Students usually study more than 6 hours at school literally every day for a week, where their brains face exhaustion, and if it continues with extra activities, many of them will lose their motivation or courage to excel in learning. Moreover, there will be other mental issues as a result of burnout in the brain. For instance, public schools in China have seen the peak of stress and exhaustion in their students because of the excessive hours of studying not only at school but also at home to finish assignments that are given to them.
In addition to academic work, students need free time to interact with family and friends, which plays a crucial role in developing their confidence and emotional well-being. Spending quality time with family and communicating with friends helps students feel relaxed, especially after a long day of school. It also builds self-confidence, as they feel heard and valued in conversations outside of school. For example, a 2021 survey by the American Psychological Association found that when teenagers are overloaded by homework every day, they try to wrap themselves in isolation instead of social interactions with their loved ones.
In conclusion, I completely agree with this opinion because the daily excessive assignment overload weakens commitment to studying further, and social interaction between loved ones increases self-confidence and well-being.
