It is often argued that competition at work, at school and in daily life is the best thing, while others believe that we should try to collaborate more, rather than competing against each other. In my opinion, both the aspects have advantages and disadvantages. These viewpoints will be discussed in the upcoming paragraphs along with my opinion.
One compelling argument in favour of this view is that competition motivates individuals to work harder and improves their performances. The main reason is that when individuals work in a competition, they are more likely to compare themselves with other and understand their weakness more effectively. This means that competition encourages them to participate in activities full dedication and full strength to complete work more productively and efficiently .. As a result, competition not only enables them to improve their weaknesses but also can help to perform better in academically, for example, during schools exam, students can compare their results with other peers, which helps them to identify their mistakes, and they are more likely to improve the performance. However, competition spirit can reduce face-to-face social interaction with other students, because competition do not allow them to work in a group
On the other hand, cooperate with each other has a significant advantages, firstly, cooperation lead to support and share idea with each other which helps them to improves their relationships. The primary reason is that cooperation encourages individuals to take participate in group activities, which allows them to develop different kind of skills such as interpersonal communication. This means that when individuals work in a group, share idea, each other, they are more likely to strengthen their relationship, and build a strong networking. For example, in the workplace employees have different skills and abilities they work together and divide their responsibilities according to their strength which helps them to accomplish work more effectively and strengthen their relationship. As a result, cooperation not only helps individuals to reduce the work load, but also enables them to work more productively and efficiently. Therefore, they can secure better employment opportunities in future.
In conclusion, although competition
encourages individuals to work harder and improves their weaknesses, I believed that competition reduce social or face-to-face interaction and share ideas with each other which helps them to improve their relationships. Therefore, we should try to cooperate more, rather than competing against each other.
