Many individuals opine that to improve traffic issues and pollution authorities should fund more in public transportation. While others oppose this by saying that constructing more roads and expressways is a greater resolution. Both these views will be discussed in the ensuing paragraphs.
On the one hand, government investment in public vehicles is a key factor to overcome busy traffic and make pollution free environment. The authorities should make transportation more convenient and flexible for its citizens with advanced facilities and make it available and affordable for people to commute from rural areas as well. If people find frequently present transportation on their doorstep, it will prioritize more than private vehicles. More and more human beings rely on trains and buses, that means less traffic on roads. As a result, it can lead to less air pollution and means better air quality to breathe. For example, it has been seen that in the United Kingdom most people are using underground trains and public buses provided by the government rather than owing vehicles.
On the other hand, administrations focus on creating more roads and highways can help to reduce traffics congestion. If the number of roads increases by double, then people can use whichever way comes in their directions. The government should separate roads and expressways so that citizens cannot get confused on using them. They should create individual roads for school vehicles, heavy trucks, cars, and cyclists. If all kinds of drivers are not using the same road, then there is less traffic on the roadway. To give an example, In China, they have built roads and tracks in a way that has stations integrated in the residential buildings.
In my opinion, I believe that the authorities should invest more in public transportation to lessen the traffic problems and pollution. They should make buses and trains free of charge for everyone to use, so that the poor people can also utilize these services.
In conclusion, vehicles invested by the government for the public play a significant role in reducing pollution and traffic from busy roads. Whereas some people argue that building more roads can resolve those issues. However, I completely agree with this side of the argument that has more focus on providing transportation available to all the parts of the nations.
