People have different opinions about who should be punished when children commit crimes. While it may be logical to assume that parents are responsible for children’s actions, I side with those who think that children themselves should be punished when committed crime.
One the one hand, some people argue that parents should be punished when children engage in a criminal activity. Because parents are responsible for monitoring their children’s behavior. For example, If they are rarely at home or do not pay attention for children’s actions, the child may become involved in crime.
On the other hand, others believe in the idea that a person who committed crime should be the one to be punished. If parents are held accountable for their children’s crimes, the chance of repeating this actions may increase, as children think that they are not going to be punished anyway. I also think that children should face the consequences of their own wrongdoings. In this way we can prevent them from repeating the same actions
In conclusion, although both perspectives hold merit, I believe that children should face consequences for their criminal behavior to discourage them from committing the same offenses3 again
