Environmental management is a primary requirement for sustainable development. Though there are two schools of thought. Some people believe that they should contribute to the betterment of the environment. In contrast, some oppose individual contribution and consider government and legal departments as major drivers for environmental protection.
The environment is the surrounding where every living individual lives and interacts with non-living objects, which range from air to soil and water. This term clearly signifies the importance of its maintenance for survival. This is the reason why most people tend to input personal contributions for enhancing the flourishing of the environment. These practices are mostly tree plantation, proper waste disposal, and minimal resource consumption. Each of these practices has multiple short-term and long-term positive impacts. Such as tree plantation improves air quality, reduces soil erosion, and reduces temperatures during summers. Similarly, efficient resource use reduces the chances of scarcity in the near future. In this regard, government and the legal sector have a dominating role, to not just rely on voluntary works but to ensure that there are proper policies and regulations to follow. The guiding principles and their implementation are the responsibility of the governing bodies to make people manage the environment legally.
Conclusively, regulatory authorities are responsible for sustainable development, but additional work as an environmental activist is major for growing awareness and the adaptation of environmental practices.
