Becoming parents is such a difficult responsibility for the adults in modern society, while many of them have less preparation of the new identity. Some people are argument that whether individuals should receive professional training before becoming parents. In my view, I agree those people who are willing to become parents should have professional training.
Admittedly, professional training can help parents reducing errors they may make in both physical and mental health during the period of children growing up. First of all, some basic courses teach the future parents how to maintain their children health quality. For example, those curriculum may contain knowledge about baby nutrition, first aid and some common child illness. So that parents can calm down in emergencies. In addition, training may also teach parents how to provide sentimential value to their children, in order to maintain their mental condition. For instance, parents should release and introduce their children when reacting difficulties from social relationships or academic grades. In this sense, training plays a vital role in both improve children safety and the quality of family relationship.
However, making professional training compulsory seems to be unequal for society and be difficult to enforce. Firstly, every individual in different family has its one personalities. Therefore, the same standard course can not fit all kind of children definitely. Moreover, the compulsory system will bring finance pressure to those low-income family, and no one can guarantee that every adult can become a successful parent after the professional training.
In conclusion, professional training for future parents have impact on the development of children physically and mentally. Although there are some practical problem if enforcing it compulsory. Therefore, I firmly believe that it should be offered widely with the finance and practical encouragement.
