2. What should we do when we are in a bad situation? Should we just accept the situation and move on with our life or should we try and improve the situation? I believe that rather than trying to accept the bad situation we should at least try to improve such situations.
On one side of the debate are those people who believe that it is best to accept a bad situation such as unsatisfactory job or shortage of money. They claim that this will keep themselves out of trouble. They seem to believe that when they start to learn how to accept the bad situations, it is easy to move on with their lives because everyone may encounter numerous bad situations, that is the way of life. Not everyone will encounter best situations which is beneficial to them. Hence, they have learnt to accept these bad situations and continue their lives by adjusting to them.
The counterargument would be that people should at least try and improve bad situations. If people who lived in the past did not try to overcome the hardships, humankind would not have survived for long. As humans it is in our instinct overcome barriers and live a comfortable life.
My view is that it is better to try and improve bad situations rather than just accepting them. There is a saying that it is better to die while trying rather than doing nothing. We cannot predict our strategies may fail without implementing them. They may help to improve bad the situations. Evern though over attempt to improve hardship become fruitless, we can be happy about the fact least we tried. That experience may help us in the unforeseen future hurdles. Therefore, those attempts can not be considered as failure. When I was working as the assistant lecture in the university, I had lectures on Thursdays. On Thursdays I have to go to the hospitals to meet my doctors monthly due to my autoimmune decease. First, few months I missed my appointments with my doctor and conducted lectures for students. However, as a result my health condition declined. Later, I discussed with head of the department and cleared my timetable on Thursday morning which allowed me to meet my doctor as usual. That’s when I learned to at least try to improve the bad situation I encounter. Because if I did not try to find solutions I may have to leave my job as a result of my poor health condition.
In conclusion, trying to improve bad situations is preferable. Therefore, I believe that the people should try and improve bad situations rather than learning to accept them. This way people may gain numerous benefits.
