Some individuals claim that accepting unpleasant events such as unsatisfactory occupation or shortage of income as they are is a peaceful path while the rest disagrees that people should be working on those issues to move on to the next step. From my point of view, people tend to unconsciously avoid the processing stage, and rush on to finding answers of the problems. Concerning this idea, I believe that the facts that I will be mentioning in this essay will be the aid.
On the one hand, I believe that acceptance is the most mindful action a person can perform. The concept of finding a solution immediately after a problem has occurred is a common sense in our brains. In addition, society has never agreed with the idea that people need to process the whole situation firsthand before looking for answers, especially in serious ones such as death of a family member and failing an examination. For instance, individuals tend to motivate people who had just lost a family member to move on with their lives, which is considered to be a generous gesture. However, from my perspective, there should be positive feedbacks on a person processing a terrible situation as a stage of acceptance, such as taking a break from school and work.
On the other hand, people cannot spend their entire lives without moving on from the unpleasant events, and it is essential to settle down and find solutions at last. As the example mentioned above, after the tragic death of a beloved person, mourning is a form of acceptance, which society tends to avoid. Avoiding is skipping a stage to reach the desired goal yet not a shortcut. Mourning and accepting is the paths to improve and rebuild themselves. For this reason, I believe that both acceptance and self-improvement always come together in life.
In conclusion, acceptance of tragic events and finding solutions to them are equally valuable in order to create a balanced lifestyle, and one does not exist without the other.
