It is reported that some individuals think raising children is the countryside is better than in a big city. While growing up in the countryside can be mentally and physically beneficial for children, I wholeheartedly disagree with this view for several reasons.
On the one hand, rural areas offer a safer and cleaner environment, thereby increasing both physical health and motor skills. This is because these areas have less air and noise pollution compared to cities. In this respect, were children to live in these areas, they would grow up in completely eco-friendly areas, meaning that they would be less exposed to pollution and more connected to nature. Hence, children in these areas have easy access to play around safely thanks to the limited traffic, paving the way for them to explore the environment and develop physically. Along with becoming physically strong, they would have less tendency to suffer from a lack of concentration, because noise pollution is not prevalent in the countryside, leading to increased concentration. Take Uzbekistan as an example. According to the study surveyed a few years ago, children living in rural areas in this nation showed a considerably high concentration during lessons compared to city dwellers.
I, however, believe raising children in urban areas is largely at play in their future development, for cities offer them better access to education. We have already come to the watershed moment where practical skills and academic knowledge are essential for future success. Cities typically provide a wide range of high-quality educational resources, including well-equipped schools, coupled with diverse learning programs, which hardly ever can be found in rural areas. Therefore, only when children grow in urban areas, will they attend classes given by well-versed teachers. This, in turn, enhances children’s intellectual and personal growth. In contrast, rural areas usually lack these opportunities, leading to limit children’s development in the long run.
In conclusion, I disagree with this view. Although growing in the countryside plays a crucial role in improving children’s cognitive development along with their physical health, I think cities can offer more vital opportunities to achieve success in this life.
