In many companies, it is common that people with higher positions, such as manager or chief, have better salaries than regular employees. I totally agree with this trend for several reasons.
First and foremost, people should be paid based on merit. Higher position necessarily comes with significant salaries. Managerial position plays a vital rotel in many aspects of companies’ development. Every decision that they have made will effect company’s performance and revenue, so that if there is something wrong happened with the company they are the ones responsible for tackling the issues. For example, chief executive officers are responsible for setting long-term goals and handling large teams. These duties require a lot of time and energy to perform well and higher salaries provided for the person in charge as a financial incentive to support their performance.
Additionally, salary improvement for advanced position will serve as motivation among other employees. Workers may be triggered to increase their performance to show that they are capable of better position. They will take more learning courses to improve their knowledge and take more initiative to get done any other assignments to learn something new and improve their skill.
In conclusion, while all employees take part in company’s advancements, I believed that managerial position have higher accountabilities and take more risks. All employees are worth to be compensated based on their performances. Moreover, higher salaries will allow workforces to compete and show their best works, and often come with promotion to higher level position in the company.
