Band 5+: Some people believe that large companies should pay their chief executive officers (CEOs) significantly higher salaries than other employees. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Many thinks that big companies should give higher salaries to their chief executive officers (CEOs) than other workers. I agree with this because the CEOs have more responsibility on managerial and company identity.

Chief Executive Officers have a special duty on managerial tasks. They have to become the ones who decide the company’s business path, which require them to understand several disciplines. Therefore, the ability to manage people is mandatoryis a mandatory due to the need of organizing the workers and get more useful information. Based on those terms and requirements, they should be valued more than other employees.

Another reason to emphasize this is about how the CEOs have to be the figure of the company. They should not only focus on routine managerial tasks, but also need to generate inspiring traits to increase the workers productivity. Moreover, giving the employees positive work ethics while leading a company in the same time is definitely a difficult thing to do. In addition, communication proficiency is needed in order to interact in horizontal and vertical ways. They must be able to talk to the workers effectively, and it also applied for the instance when they meet their business partners. Hence, many companies decided to employ the best person who associated with the core of the company. To illustrate this, In many multinational companies such as Google and Amazon, they hire renowned figures in digital business to highlight the company identity.

In conclusion, I believe that CEOs should be well-paid due to their significant roles. They need to control between both; managerial duties and the figure of the company, which are the primary reason why they are more valuable than the others.
