In the modern world, some people argue that using animals for food, clothing and medicine is no longer necessary because there are many alternatives available. I partly agree with this view, as modern technology has reduced our dependence on animals, although they can still play an important role in some areas of medicine.
First of all, there are now many alternatives to using animals for food and clothing. For example, people can choose plant-based foods such as products, vegetables and grains instead of eating meat. In addition, modern companies produce artificial leather and other synthetic materials that can be used to make clothes, shoes and bags. These alternatives can reduce the number of animals killed for human needs and may also have environmental benefits. Therefore, in these two areas, the use of animals is becoming less necessary.
However, I do not completely agree that animals are no longer needed in medicine. Although scientists are developing new technologies and laboratory methods, some animal products are still used to produce medicines and medical treatments. In some cases, research involving animals has helped scientists understand diseases and develop new treatments. As a result, completely stopping the use of animals in medicine may not be practical at present.
In conclusion, I believe that animals are no longer essential for food and clothing because suitable alternatives are widely available. Nevertheless, their use in medicine can still be necessary in certain situations, although this should be reduced whenever safe alternatives are possible.
