In modern society, animals are no longer considered necessary in the food, clothing and medical industries. I completely disagree with this view, as the use of animals remains essential in these industries, particularly because they often provide nutritional value, medical effectiveness and material durability which can not be replaced by synthetic alternatives.
In the food industry, animals play an important role in providing people with high nutritional diets. For example, meat is one of the necessary substances for people to maintain their health and get calories for daily activities because it contains high levels of natural protein without synthetic materials. Moreover, it is not only healthy substance, but meat can also make a food more delicious by its other ingredients which other artificial alternatives can not be.
On the other hand, animals are fundamental to medical advancements, serving as essential models in research. In addition, it helps scientists understand diseases, test safety or efficacy of new drugs and develop therapies by animals. By contrast, there is no artificial organism to test or develop medicine yet. For example, mice, rats or rabbits are commonly used for this research, because of their genetic and physiological similarities to human. Consequently, animals are beneficial and also indispensable to create a cure for different diseases which can lead people to die.
Moreover, animals’ leather is one of the best material to manufacture clothes with a higher-quality. The leather is obtained from the bodies of animals, meaning it is naturally durable and has a unique texture that synthetic leather can not replicate. Furthermore, with those aspects, this leather can provide durability and a unique look for clothes. Thus, those types are highly appreciated in the cloth industry. Although there are artificial leathers, it can be shown that those synthetic materials are more likely to reduce its quality compared to natural one.
To conclude, animals still play a crucial role in life-based fields. It can provide people with healthy diet, better quality clothes and solution for several diseases, which synthetic alternatives can not yet replicate.
