In today’s world, bullying is generally one of the most serious issues that cannot be tackled immediately, regardless of the time. Specifically, cyberbullying and physical bullying are worth mentioning more than all others due to their adverse impacts on both the mental and physical well-being of the victims. This essay will elaborate on certain problems caused by these two immoral behaviours before stating certain workable methods to handle them.
Cyberbullying is simply known as the use of digital technologies such as phones and computers to intentionally harm, harass, or humiliate someone. One common form of this behaviour is revealing private or embarrassing photos and secrets without permission online. Over time, those posts reaching a wide audience definitely push victims into mental breakdown due to the fear of being judged and insulted, or more seriously, deprive people of reputations and relationships that have been built for years. From victims’ perspective, it is a must to stay mentally calm and try to capture all the solid evidence before handing it to the competent authorities. This activity will facilitate the search and identification process, allowing the authorities to quickly seek bullies and demand ultimate justice for the victims based on the level of consequences.
Physical bullying, on the other hand, refers to an unwanted, aggressive behaviour that involves using one’s physical body or objects to inflict bodily harm, pain, fear, or property damage on another person repeatedly. This can be seen clearly in school contexts, where a group of children with higher social status deliberately tend to hit, kick, punch, or even trip vulnerable ones for satisfaction. As a result, victims are more likely to experience constant anxiety, panic attacks, and self-blame since aggressors often manipulate them into believing that they deserved the abuse. These excessive symptoms consequently cause psychological problems among victims, leading to lower productivity and alertness over time. In these cases, victims should shift from defensive to evidence-based action by collecting undeniable proof, such as taking screenshots, saving URLs, or recording videos of harassment. Besides, try to confide in at least one reliable person to share the emotional burden and reach out to anti-bullying organizations for immediate support. Without these actions, victims cannot withstand all these humiliations, worsening their well-being in the long term.
In conclusion, while admitting the serious consequences of cyberbullying and physical bullying, which mainly result in mental and physical illnesses among victims, workable methods should be taken into account to help reduce this phenomenon. Besides assistance from the competent authorities, victims should also have enough self-esteem and confidence to demand justice for themselves.
