In recent years, there has been an on-going debate about whether conventional curriculum is less effective than online education. Personally, I partially agree with this statement. Therefore, this following essay will discuss deeply on both perspectives before presenting my own viewpoint.
On the one hand, studying through online platforms can provide students with a wide range of knowledge and efficient technological tools. This is because Internet connection is developing significantly, providing numerous online resources and educational platforms. As a result, they can be quickly attracted by a lot of AI devices and websites which offer them a thorough insight into academic subjects. With just a click of mouse, learners can receive quick and accurate answers to their projects, homework or complicated questions. For instance, apps such as ChatGPT, Wikipedia, and Prep can offer students valuable materials, supporting them in preparing for the upcoming exam or finishing research projects such as IELTS. Hence, having opportunities to learn via online platforms is beneficial for them to enhance learning efficiency in a rapid way.
On the other hand, traditional classroom education may improve students’ interactions and collaboration. To demonstrate, through teamwork activities including doing group projects, participating in games and having face-to-face conversations, students can develop stronger communication skills and cultivate sympathy. Consequently, it can strengthen the bonding between every student and boost their confidence. For example, students who take part in conventional classrooms are likely to have a long-term relationship with their friends, unlike those whose online interaction may be superficial and short-lived. This indicates that learning offline plays an important role in fostering students’ connection and interpersonal skills.
In conclusion, although following online lessons could be convenient, conventional education is important to encourage cooperation among students. While both perspectives have their merits, a balanced approach that combines online learning during difficult circumstances such as harsh weather, and in remote areas would be the most practical method to achieve strong academic performance.
