According to some people’s beliefs, reading books have more impacts on the people’s imagination and language skills development than TV. I partially agree with this idea.
Firstly, reading books influences people’s imagination with visualisation. While reading books can be imagined the situations going on the book via livining episodes in front of eyes. So this way affects creativity, mental improvement, at the same time language skills are improved when read. People meet literary words and phrases, this can learn and get used how to use them in appropriate cases. It can also improve their speech to express minds rightly.
On the other hand, we cannot deny the role of television, I would say at the same time internet on the people’s imagination and language skills development. Even we can refer to the Harward’s last researches about Television affects on kids. There we can see the information of experiment about this matter. As for the experiment, it was proved that television has big influences on kids from the point of imagination development. I had may own experience about improving language skills via television. Practically with watching the Turkish series on television for a month I had broken my Turkish language barriers, otherwise I couldn’t catch natives’ speeches in daily life. It means that, for improving listening skills only books are not enough, it is a clear proof.
In conclusion, i reaffirm my point of view. Only books are not enough to improve imagination and language skills in this modern century.
