Preserving natural environment is an important topic and many people state that is crucial to take action as soon as possible. However, the majority or those who highlights this issue, do not make any effort to change things. There might be many reasons to explain why this happens.
Firstly, a common trait of people is laziness, and this feature seems to be shown even more when an action requires several individuals to be done. For instance, a person might feel demotivated or, even worse, might feel not responsible for the changes that they are indirectly causing. This happens because we think that our individual action corresponds to an irrelevant percentage of the damage. Conversely, in this way, nobody will feel in duty of preserving the environment.
Nevertheless, there are simple actions that could pragmatically help to prevent an even bigger damage. A crucial role is played by education: school is one of the first public spaces where children start to know the world and share their ideas. Teachers represent a role model, and they must emphasize the importance of taking care of our earth to all their scholars. Furthermore, parents need to teach their children how to recycle, for example through fun activities or games which will be fun and educational at the same time. Lastly, the government must take action as well: it could promote events which might represent a moment to reflect and share ideas with other people.
To sum up, we all have equal responsibility and nobody is left out. Everyone should do their own part and teach the importance of this issue to all those people who do not take it seriously.
