There is a debate regarding paying more for professional workers such as doctors and teachers than those who work as sport and entertainment personalities. I completely disagree with this statement because both of them have to work hard.
Some professionals like teacher and doctors are considered to be important for society. Therefore, people think it is better to pay them more than others. People respect these professionals because they cope with numerous problems every day for others’ well-being. Take, for example, doctors who spend a day long operating patients to save their lives. In addition, they do it with passion and meticulosity as it is a very responsible job, with a non-stop learning and studying process. Also, teachers work really hard to educate the future generation. Although, it is hard to underestimate the value of these professionals, it is not appropriate to pay them more than others because they also do their job well.
Furthermore, some people who work in entertainment and sport fields have the same hours of work everyday. Yet, people tend to believe that it is easier to work as such professionals. However, it is crucial to recognize they also have an excessive workload and it is equally demanding type of work as teaching and healthcare. For example, an average sport player spend minimum 8 hours on training and they also feel pressure during competitions. In addition, sportmen and sportwomen may encounter serious illnesses due to some activities they do. Also, take, dancers and singers. In Korea, there is a noticeable trend among idols to work harder and harder. They struggle to meet expectations of their followers. To say that, they also are valuable professionals. All thing that I mentioned above show that professionals in sport and entertainment sectors also work hard and shoul be paid well.
In conclusion, even though some workers such as educaters and doctors work hard and are important for society, their counterparts in other fields such as sport and entertainment also have a heavy workload. Therefore, it is not necessary to pay for formers more than for latters.
