there is a believe that tradional libraries shoud be closed and people move to use online book stores instead of that, because it can save money and large space to another actitvities. In my opinion a combination of the two views can be more effective in the long term because it may save resources as well as keep the value of historique public libraries.
on the one hand, some people argue that reducing in the number of libraries gives to the government new funds that can develop another project. for example building new homes for vulnerable families or enhacing the public transport and make it more reliable which has a benefit on the environment by metigating air pollution effect. furthermore, a good public transport can decline the congestion issue in big cities. and all of that can be done if we stop funding unnecessary sectors such as public libraries.
on the other hand, there is a view who believe that protecting public libraries is vital for young generation. in addition, it plays a significant role in the society and the history of the country. for instance, the grand library of Algiers represntes the history of the city for two centries as the building designed in 19s centry in colonial style. morover, the library contain valuable books in different geners which written by the greatest Algerian writers and that what make tradional libraries important and digital stores or libraries cannot replace it.
To sum up, both views have a solid arrguments. however, a new approach that combine both opinions can lead to practical solution. shut down libraries which no longer used and fundrise other essential projects in the same time protecting the libraries for its own value and its role in nation memory.
