Some people argue that teaching theoretical knowledge is unnecessary, while practical skills are crucial for real-life situations. I completely agree with this statement because practical skills help individuals solve problems and gain valuable experiences. This essay will discuss why replacing theoretical knowledge with practical skills is crucial.
First of all, dealing with life situations requires practical skills. There are many difficult real-life situations that humans pass through, such as mental or emotional problems that have immense pressure on individuals. So, to prepare individuals for life situations, they must develop practical skills. For example, surgeons can not do any work until they have passed practical tests and have valuable experience. For this reason, teaching practical skills is essential in school or post-secondary to deal with life.
Secondly, even though practical skills are crucial, theoretical knowledge also plays a vital role in people’s life. This is because education needs reading, writing, and listening, and all of those can come from theory. Therefore, without theory, there is no practice, and the most important thing is knowledge. For example, companies all over the world require a university certificate, so if there is no knowledge or degree, there is no certificate. For this reason, people need to gain knowledge about theory.
In conclusion, I believe that focusing on practical skills is more needed, but even though they both help each other and schools need to teach them both. However, some believe that practical is more essential ,and necessary and needs more focusing than the other.
