In the contemporary era, thre is a privailing belief that illustrating crime-related content on television and newspaper should be stricly forbidden due to negative consequences it may have on individuals. From my perspective, I partly disagree with this view and such content should be available on a wider audience.
Admittedly, there are some valid reasons why such content should be restricted. First and most obvious one is that people might be exposed to a valient content which in fact could negatively impact their mental health and may contribute to stress-related issues like high-cortisol level or constant anxiety. For instance, research in the University of Suffolk reveals that for a child crime-related could stick in memory and attempt to avoid people and society as they would take everyone as a criminal. Consequently, resrticting some programmes that are popular among children is crucial to prevent future possible issues.
Nevertheless, it would be shortsighted to dismiss purely on these grounds. Number-one argument is that watching crime-related programmes could raise awareness among people on how to keep protected from criminals. Foe exmaple, adults can understand better how to stay safe in hazardous and risky situation when they may become a victim of a crime due to high knowledge of action taking techniques and common mistakes which should not be made. Thus, these practical and aspirational factors altoghether encourage crime content display.
Taking everything into consideration, although there are some problems associated with such content like anxiety and isolation, the advantages that this tend offers are far more important. Thus, I believe that displaying crime-related content could be useful fo children.
