Giving homework to students has sparked a considerable debate in the recent years. Although some people think that it is beneficial for the students, there is another group who argue that it is an extra burden for them. In my opinion I largely agree with the viewpoint that pupils should get homework. The essay will discuss the reasons for my agreement.

To begin with, homework helps the children to develop their learning ability. This is important because, for some children it could be hard to understand and learn different concepts in one attempt, but if they practised the same concepts again at home it would encourage their understanding level. For instance, a survey report conducted by university showed that 80% of students are in the favour of getting homework on daily basis. Therefore, it is evident that homework benefits the students in a positive way.

Furthermore, homework assists the students to be more disciplined and productive. It is significant because it helps to prevent them of spending their time on scrolling social media and utilize that time in a meaningful way. A good instance of this is the interview of top achiever students at Punjab University conducted by the education minister that shows that the work they got for home to revise and practise helped them to remain busy with their study instead of spending time anywhere else. Hence, homework is a way to help the children to utilize their time in a productive way.

In conclusion, after considering both the arguments, I would say that children should assign work for home on daily basis because it assist them to stay in touch with what they have learned at school.
