It is often argued that homework should be eliminated because children need more time for recreation. I totally agree with this view because removing homework can encourage children to maintain a healthy lifestyle and reduce academic pressure.
One compelling reason why I support this view is that eliminating homework encourage children to maintain a healthy lifestyle. This is because without hours of doing homework after school, children have more time for physical activitiys, outdoor play and enough sleep. As a result, regular excerises improves physical health, while adequate sleep enhances concentrations, memory, and emotional well-being. For example, instead of spending three hours completing assignments, a child could join a football club or simply sleep earlier, which contributes to healthier development.
Another reason why I agree is that banning homework can reduce academic pressure. Obviously, many students already spend six to eight hours studying at school every day. Consequently, additional homework often leaves them felling mentally exhausted and anxious about meeting deadlines. Moreover, excessive pressure may decrease learning motivation and even lead to burnout. For instance, students preparing for multiple tests often stay up late to finish homework, resulting in poor concentration in class the following day.
In conclusion, I completely agree that homework should be eliminated because children need more opportunities to play. This is because banning homework can help children maintain a healthy lifestyle and reduce academic stress.
