People have different perspectives on the advantages and disadvantages of studying international news as a subject at school. While others argue that it would waste students’ valuable time, some people, including myself, believe that there are significant benefits in international news. This essay will analyze both views.
On the one hand, most students are already under enough pressure with their main courses such as mathematics and sciences at academy. For instance, the world has been rapidly developing to technology and innovation age, there is no doubt that why mathematics and sciences are important than international news. Nowadays, education as competition, many pupils have studied hard at school to achieve their good grades for future chance, they have to do their numerous homework and also prepare to take the examinations. When youths have some free time, we should encourage them to relax with their friends or to spend doing sports and other leisure activities.
On the other hand, currently, it is undeniable that all social media platforms have various fake news. Global news has to be taught to student to be aware from scammer or to have critical thinking. Although main courses are essential for students’ opportunities to reach their goals, pupils should have other skills to work ahead when they finish their studies. International news is not only expected to practice critical thinking skills, it is also used to practice reading skills. For example, when students would like to continue their studies at university or college, they have to read variety of books to understand what they study.
For the reasons mentioned above, I completely disagree that international news would waste students’ valuable time.
