Being born in such a digital era where just by a simple click on the internet, people could keep themselves updated with the entire world, especially in the sector of international affairs. As a result, a large number of people assume that global news should be taught in students’ curriculum. However, others oppose that. In this essay, I will shed light on valuable opinions on both sides.
To begin with, pupils should be accustomed to international happenings which bring them numerous benefits. Firstly, learners who approach world news at a young age could develop an interest, and then they acquire knowledge at global level. Furthermore, having a vast understanding of global mass media could help students find their opportunities in both employment and study. In particular, overseas students who have deeply understanding about the nation they live in would easily fit in that environment. Finally, it would be feasible that youngsters would be more interested in watching news instead of spending their time playing video games, which could prevent technology addiction.
Conversely, others perceive that students should only focus on their academic subjects such as Maths, Literature, etc, so that they could register in a good quality high school or college. Moreover, many parents believe that knowing about what is happening globally is time consuming as they think it will not help them with their future careers .Instead of that, their time should be spent on exercises to enhance their health. Lastly, world news comprises many aspects, both positive and negative which could influence reader cognitive. To exemplify, some news with negative connotation could affect students negatively and even change their point of life.
