In recent years, it is widely argued that technology has positive effects in students’ learning, whereas others believe that it makes learning more challenging. From my point of view, technology plays an important role in education and helps students foster their knowledge.
On the one hand, some people think that technology facilitates the learning process. Digital devices help students acquire knowledge more conveniently. There are significant amount of information in the internet and online learning platforms. In today’s modern schools, various modern technological tools are being used to enhance children’s academical performance. As an illustration, teachers can interpret lessons by using pictures, diagrams and slides on a smart board, which makes classes more interesting and interactive. As a result, technology fosters students’ learning outcomes and attracts their attention to classes.
On the other hand, other people see technology as a distraction. Students spend a lot of time on their phones and waste much time. In their perspective, online resources cannot replace traditional paper-based textbooks. For instance, some information in the internet can be wrong and students might get false information. Since online devices decrease children’s attention span, they can get distract easily and cannot focus on their studies. As a consequence, technology has made learning more difficult.
To conclude, while technology has some negative impacts on children, I believe that it is an integral part of modern education.
