While some opine that an academic’s excellent students depend on good teachers and teaching methods, some believe their success comes from attitude, willpower, and hard work play a more significant role. This essay will discuss both views, from the great teacher to the student self-commitment that affects their success in academics.
Some people believe that the academic achievements of students mostly come from good teaching methods which are one of the important characteristics of a great teacher. That is to say that they deliver effective lectures so that the students can have a great understanding of the topic that the students are required to understand at that academic level which leads to better grades and acknowledgment. For example, brakes down complex mathematics equations into simple equations or explains complex text with easy-to-follow and understood words.
On the other hand, the contribution of the students has played an important role in the success and what they could gain from school and teachers. A positive attitude and strong determination can generate motivation and drive them to study, work hard, and succeed academically. For more details, the students who have a positive attitude toward learning and good determination to succeed usually put more effort, time, and work into the assignments or lessons that they have been assigned. Besides, the good teachers and teaching methods, if they don’t have any motivation and determination to have good grades, they won’t put in much effort which results in bad grades.
In my opinion, I think attitude and motivation are much more important than a good teacher to succeed academically. A good teacher or good teaching methods could play a significant role in a person who has a good attitude and determination as a shortcut to save time in studying by themself or find the explanation for the point where they don’t understand.
In conclusion, although a good educator provides students with effective lectures, student’s determination and attitude toward learning are the primary contributions to the outcome of their academic achievements.
