There are different opinions on how road safety can be improved. Some people think that people who break traffic rules should pay heavy fines while others say that training drivers is more productive. I think stricter rules as well as teaching people will contribute to increased safety on the roads.
One group of people strongly support the idea of severe monetory punishments for traffic rule breakers. In doing so, drivers will take the road regulations seriously as breaking them would turn out to be expensive for themselves. In the current economy where the cost of every retail product and service is shooting up, it makes complete sense to raise the fines as well. Vehicle operators will efficiently learn from their mistakes as they wouldn’t want to pay so much money multiple times.
Other point of view the public has is about providing proper coaching to people learning to drive. If drivers go through quality preparation before actively driving or riding on the roads, they will have a clear understanding of the guidelines that need to be followed from behind the wheel. Real-life practice sessions under strict guidance can help students to build muscle memory on how to act as soon as one sees a traffic signal or road sign, for example.
To sum up, it is true that steps should be taken to reduce accidents on the road. Both, sanctioning the violators strictly along with providing good training sessions to drivers are effective ways to achieve that. In my opinion, a combination of these should be carried out as one wouldn’t work without the other.
