The world is going through a crisis, the species are dying and many are endangered, animals and plants alike. The Earth is possibly going through a mass extinction event and if we do not do anything about it we might become the next species to go extinct.
The protection of the biodiversity as a whole has become a responsibility of homo sapiens; humans. We are deeply interconnected by a food chain and yet we do not know how the chain is connected and an extinction of an apparently unrelated species may directly affect us. Bee for instance, it helps flowers reproduce. Its extinction will inevitably cause the extinction of certain type of flower on which many other species rely on and the cycle grows further and more convoluted, this shows the cycle’s far-reaching and disastrous and yet unpredictable effects.
The loss of life on a global scale is not a natural event, it is rather something unprecedented for the Earth. The reason being the climate shift or the climate change. The greenhouse gases released from the industries and the factories react with atmosphere which traps the heat from the sunlight, dooming the Earth to grow warmer every year. This seemingly innocuous action has disastrous implications, such as melting of the icebergs and raising the sea levels of the oceans. this causes the loss of the marine and the coastal life.
All governments need to alleviate the situation by implementing the control by imposing the restrictions on the factories which emit the greenhouse gases, and as humanity we need to adopt a more holistic approach to foster better relationship with the environment.
