Retrieval of information is necessary for security purposes. To expand, people nowadays do a lot of communication using cellphones. The type of information that they discuss might be constructive or not. For example, thieves may use then to plan about plotting to rob or kill by tracking someones’ movements. As a result, authorities can save lives by offering protection before loss of life.
Adding on to the above, cyber bullying that is circulation of harmful messages and scoring of others through social media is common.Moreover,people do not respect others vedios where someone is doing something nasty for example fighting or bathing can circulate. In order to avoid all these government should have access to our gadgets so as to stop the sharing of such content and also bringing the culprits to discipline.
Although they police should have authority, permission should be given. This is because people should be given freedom for expression. Thus, trying to acesss information from these gadgets them without them knowing is invading their privacy.For example, sometimes people store vedios doing something in private and such information should belong to them only.If the government is in search of particular information they should ask for a go ahead.
To conclude, accessing data should not happen randomly because of the invasion of privacy and restriction of freedom of expression. Contrary, other people are vulnerable especially children, and it is the government’s responsibility to ensure safety to all citizens so that we live in harmony. Therefore my opinion is that when they are hunting harmful information there is no need to ask for permission.
