There is a ongoing debate over whether university education should be free or not, with some people advocating the government has to make university tuition without charge for all, while others arguing that students should pay for it. Although some benefits could be seen from this phenomenon, including, increasing countries literacy level, I tend to share a latter view.
There are some key reasons why it could be argued that university tuition fee should be free for all, enhancing people’s literacy level being a predominant factor. If the government provides a complimentary education, many individuals might be able to study, which, in turns, gives rise to boosting educated and qualified people in the society. In other words, every academic person plays a significant role in improving countries educational attainment, status, and popularity. Therefore, it is beneficial to provide people with chargeless training.
However, I agree with those who believe that students should pay for their teaching. Firstly, if people pay for their tuition, they will value it and pay more attention to their study. For example, a student, who paid for enrolling university, gives it his best and teaches hard in order to be a good professional. Secondly, self-paid education serves as a motivator for more students, as it pushes them to follow their goals. For instance, there are many well-known universities, such as, Oxford or Cambridge, where most students enroll with paying, but during teaching times, they strive to gain a scholarship. Thus, it is more helpful than not to support self-educated training system.
To conclude, even though it is reasonable to advocate for costless educational institution for improving degree of literacy in the country, I believe that it is even more useful to make it priced, since costly higher education serves as a motivator for students to study hard and by funding for teaching students may value it.
