Since past decades, a contradictory debate for legalising drugs is ongoing. Illegal drugs have become a worldwide problem in modern day society. The trading of drugs is widespread in nearly all countries and the collective numbers of people consuming drugs worldwide is high, it has been suggested that, simply legalising all drugs to solve problems associated with them. I personally partially agree with this proposal, because I see several advantages yet disadvantages.

One positive aspect of legalising drugs would be that number of criminal activities committed to source illegal substances would decrease, fewer people would therefore be imprisoned and have a criminal history that prevent them from progressing in life. Additionally, essential police forces would be freed up and devoted to other areas. Finally, high taxes could be imposed on the legal substances, allowing governments to have better resources to improve the infrastucture of their countries. Besides this, drugs legalised could play an crucial role in recreational and medical purposes, for example, CBD which is one of the component of cannabis which has various health benefits and THC for the same which relases dopamine when consumed, giving a feeling of euphoria.

On the contrary, topic of black market also arises. Students, might be more prone to get addicted to drugs when obtained from an unathorized source, shools might no longer educate teenagers about negative aspects of the drugs as alot of substances would be used for both recreational and medical purposes, resulting in more teenagers experimenting with them as they would believe that this is a normal aspect of life. Adding to this, higher number of drug addicts from an early age and potentially chances of more death would also increase.

In conclusion, I partially agree with the proposed action, Nevertheless, I think restriction should be pressed on the amount of legalised drug an adult could purchase and the use of such substances should be only after reaching a certain age, all the products in the inventory should aslo be recorded for eliminating black market trades.
