The primary reason supporting this viewpoint is, an individual who has an eternal eager to be successful in a sport will have the capacity to physical and mental capacity to grab all the new methods and procedure to outperform in a competition. This is evident from the story of Usain Bolt in his success of his own event. Even though he has the capacity genetically, without proper guidance & practice he would never be the world record holder.
In addition, another key factor supporting my view is continuous practice is sharpening the inborn ability. Research findings based on 10,000 hour rule suggest that long-term practice always helps to achieve mastery in a relevant field. Beyond these reasons it become evident why many people believe dedication & motivation is more important.
In conclusion, after considering the factors discussed, it is clear that advantages of ongoing practice are too significant to overlook. Therefore I firmly believe that, continuous practice represent a key role in ultimate success of a sport.
