Being a part of a community has its own rights and obligations, some people think that volunteering in community service work have to be a required part of high school programs. This essay completely agrees with this thought, believing that this is the best way to raise a kind and helpful generation of young men and women and that it leads to great consequences on the community and country in general.
The quality of our lives is highly dependent on the community we live in. Taking a part in services done for the community, such as planting trees or helping elder generations, must be taught at schools from a young age, not only theoretically but also practically. I remember being at school, I have always wanted to help others, however, I didn’t have the chance, because there was no such a plan for this at my school. I can not even imagine how beneficial that could have been to my adult life.
Volunteering overall and in community service in particular has great outcomes, our young people have a great energy, which needs to be directed and used in the right place, otherwise it might be misused or taken an advantage of. Most of the developed countries are accounting on their young scientists and leaders to use this energy and innovate in various fields.
In conclusion, our todays school kids are the leaders of tomorrow, teaching them to be a helpful and useful part of the community in a practical way through high school programs is a very rewarding step towards the success and happiness of our community and country.
