In today’s globalized world, while a large number of people think that life will become easier with endless support from modern facilities’ advancements in the next hundred years, others do not. They find it is not guaranteed that people can enhance their living conditions based on these upgraded developments. From my standpoint, although there will be significant advancements, whether life becomes better for the majority will largely depend on how humanity addresses key global challenges.
On the one hand, considerable advancements will contribute positively to each person’s living condition. Admittedly, with the advent of technology and social media, life becomes more of a blessing than a burden for most individuals. To be more specific, residents will have more access to adequate self-care systems, thereby improving their overall-wellbeing. For example, thanks to the growth of modern devices, people have more frequent office visits to check their medical conditions. In this case, the support from medical advances will lessen the possibility of serious health problems, thus helping them cut back on healthcare expenses. Furthermore, education has also witnessed significant improvements recently. It is evident that people from nearly every walk of life will be exposed to a formal educational system, thus leading to an educated workforce in the long run. If individuals are well-equipped with enough based knowledge, both academically and socially, they will open countless doors for better job opportunities and future prospects, resulting in their success as soon as possible.
Nonetheless, I personally think that the potential for improvement is not without serious threats despite recognizing pronounced advancements leading to a better quality of life. For instance, climate change, the accumulation of global warming and other serious environmental problems can still occur in the future. As a result, this will damage people’s living areas, causing poverty and homelessness. Moreover, the rapid pace of automation and unplanned growth can lead to an increase in unemployment rate. Ultimately, if nations prioritize sustainable development, the future could indeed be brighter. Conversely, inaction or short-sighted decision-making can potentially cause wide-ranging hardships and obstacles. A typical example is that the rapid development of social media will occur simultaneously with the time when the community needs to face numerous social evils and antisocial behaviors. Therefore, collective efforts are truly needed. Specifically, the government has to handle these mentioned issues effectively, such as: raising people’s awareness of the consequences of technology on their lives or balancing their private work and self-enjoyment. Simultaneously, individuals neêd to find the best approach to improve their quality of life as there is no one-size-fits-all solution to each specific circumstance.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that the potential for a brighter future certainly exists. Nevertheless, humans need to know how to solve all global challenges if they want to enjoy a better standard of living. It may include joint efforts from the government, several charitable organizations, and individuals to ensure that the progress is sustainable and guaranteed over the next hundred years.
