For example, issuing a fine for people who do not follow them can reduce the number of people who do not recycle. Providing easy access to recycling facilities is another way to boost the norm of recycling. For instance, German supermarkets provide recycling machines at the entrance so that residents can donate their plastic bottles and receive the taxes they paid before.
Social training is also a helpful way to encourage people to recycle their waste. Teaching instructions and establishing the base of this activity as a norm and part of culture is a solid way to ensure society recycles their trash. For example, Norwegians teach the instruction of recycling to their students from elementary school which helped them to become one of the most successful governments in managing the waste. Some governments made good use of their waste. For example, the Swedish government provides energy from recycled trash. If people know their recycling can be so helpful, they will definitely take some actions in this way.
Overall, governments can take productive actions to increase the amount of recycling by training instructions, bringing facilities and using the waste in a beneficial way.
