Many people seem to claim that it is essential for goverments to ahve access to people’s mobile phone calls and messages for some safety reasons. While others think that this stuff should remain private, and without their permission there is no right for government to get that infirmation. Though, in my opinion, there is definitely no need to make that information accessible for other people, even if that people are authorities.
First of all, there is no chance that governments would use that information just for safety reasons and nothing else. Sadly, nowadays, in the end of the day, that data would be probably used against you with the first chance. Sharing any private information like adresses or passwords would become just dangerous, as even though, it would seem like that the access was given to the government, there are no guarantees, that no on else would get that information.
Some things in life are called private for reasons, and it took centuries to get that right to have private information, that would not be that easy to get. Permission to get that data, or, moreover, to use it, should be only after the given permission. Of course some extreme situations can be an exclusion, but that does not happen that often.
Overall, there is absolutely no valuable reason now, that would make giving a full access to phone calls and messages to the government an obligatory thing. Moreover, that would just make the amount of rights, that people have, less smaller, as most of their personal life would be just exposed, which is totally unexeptable in modern world.
