The question of whether the school should educate students to become acquainted with parental responsibilities has been the subject of ongoing discussion. From my perspective, I strongly believe that this provides significant benefits to children as well as societies in general.
On the one hand, some people hold the traditional belief that the main purpose of the school is to boost the academic performance of children. Since all of the staff and teachers are well-trained in helping children to successfully gain substantial education. The institution itself should not waste time in providing courses regarding social development. Instead, children should focus only on theoretical and educational stuff in school since they can learn these behaviours when observing their parents at home.
On the other hand, it seems reasonable for the educational institution to include courses on practical skills that are applicable for students’ living. To illustrate, teenagers often spend most of their time in school, some parents may not be able to teach these kinds of duties. In fact, few parents are unable to raise children effectively. Hence, the children also should be educated and developed on interpersonal, social responsibility, and human morality skills. These are necessary skills that they will encounter when growing up. In particular, the additional curricular that involves parental duties is the most critical one. As it encourages juveniles to be aware of heavy responsibilities to effectively raise a child, as well as helping them to perceive the idea of being good citizens. Additionally, it not only benefits children, but also reflects the country’s development. Due to the fact that the more educated a child who understands social context, the more quality of the citizens of the nation overall.
In a nutshell, while school should mainly focus on child’s academic performance, I believe that the understanding of parental context should be added to its curriculum in order to develop quality youngsters in our society accordingly.
